Overheating Car FAQs
No. Stop immediately. Overheating can warp your engine head, blow a gasket, or worse. Pull over and call for help.
Turn off the engine right away. Don’t open the radiator cap while it’s hot. Let it cool down, and call a shop or tow service.
Could be a failing radiator fan. If it’s not pulling in air when you’re stopped, the engine won’t cool properly. That’s why it’s fine at speed but heats up when idle.
We pressure test the system, check coolant flow and fan operation, and look for leaks, blockages, or failed components like the water pump or thermostat.
